How Much Does Mulch Installation Cost?
In order to give you an accurate cost we need to know the surface area of the area you’d like mulch installed and how thick the layer of mulch will be. Mulch is sold and delivered by the yard. 1 yard of mulch spread roughly an 1″ (1 inch) thick should cover approximately 324 square feet.
In most cases, it is best to put mulch down at 2-3 inches in depth to help prevent weed growth. Our price for delivery and installation is done on a price per yard of mulch. Also included into the price per yard is the bed preparation, redefining of bed edges and an application of weed prevention.
We’ll only be able to provide you with an accurate estimate for spreading mulch in your gardens after a thorough site inspection.
Preparation Of Garden Beds For Mulch
Before installing mulch in your garden beds, they will need to be cleaned out. They will be weeded and cleared out of any brush or debris. Landscape cloth can be laid down if wanted at an additional cost but is not suggested in most cases. Another good idea is to trim shrubs and surrounding trees that surround the beds prior to mulch installation to help prevent future organic debris from falling into your garden beds as well as provide an overall aesthetically pleasing appearance.
If you just want mulch delivered to install on your own you should contact your nearest landscape supply company and inquire about mulch delivery.
